About Turtle Pinnacle

Turtle Pinnacle is a boat-accessed volcanic pinnacle off north Kona with a natural turtle cleaning station that reliably draws Hawaiian green sea turtles back to the reef. Divers come for the calm lava structure, the steady turtle activity, and the reef fish that gather around the station. On the right day, manta passes and other Kona reef life add another reason to stay focused and patient over the pinnacle.

Local Intel For Turtle Pinnacle

Community notes to help plan your visit.

Scuba

Scuba is the best fit: boat access, a clean volcanic pinnacle, and reliable turtle activity make this a relaxed reef dive when Kona conditions are calm.

Freedive

The shallow profile makes breath-hold exploration possible on calm, operator-approved days, but it is primarily a scuba site.

Snorkel

Shallow areas can work for calm-day snorkel visits, but the site is usually better as a boat-scuba dive.
