Frederiksted Pier is St. Croix’s classic macro dive, with coral-encrusted pilings, a shallow shore entry, and a long structure that is easy to read from land. The site works well for relaxed day dives and night dives, with plenty of room to work the pilings and the sandy edges around the end of the pier. Plan around cruise-ship schedules because diving stops when large vessels are in port. In calm water the pier usually holds great visibility and a dense mix of seahorses, octopus, turtles, stingrays, eels, and other photo subjects.
