Overview
Coron anchors the Calamian Islands at the north of Palawan. Divers come for a dozen Japanese WWII wrecks in Coron Bay, plus surreal thermoclines inside Barracuda Lake. Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon, and Siete Pecados deliver iconic snorkeling over vibrant coral. The Tagbanua manage Coron Island’s lakes and coves and enforce site rules that keep the water clear. Base in Coron Town for day boats to wrecks, reefs, and islands, or head northwest for dugong encounters near Calauit. Flights land at Francisco B. Reyes Airport on Busuanga, with fast ferries to and from El Nido and an overnight 2GO ship from Manila.

Why Coron for Scuba Diving
Coron is renowned for WWII wrecks sunk on 24 September 1944. Most sit between 18 m and 40 m, allowing multi-level dives for Advanced Open Water and technical training for penetration. Lakes and reefs add variety between steel giants. Day boats depart Coron Town daily with lunch onboard.

Why Coron for Freediving
Freedivers love Barracuda Lake’s thermoclines, the cathedral-like limestone walls, and calm bays. Offshore reefs and Twin Peaks offer coral gardens and fish life with easy drops. Boats can stage deep sessions in protected lee sides when winds pick up.
