Rental cars offer the most flexibility. Maui Bus serves main corridors daily with limited airport service. Rideshare and taxis operate in resort areas. Reserve parking or timed entry for certain state parks.
Hawaii is a U.S. state. Domestic U.S. travelers do not need passports. Visa Waiver Program nationals need ESTA approval before boarding U.S.-bound flights. All travelers departing Hawaii to the mainland must clear USDA agricultural inspection.
Tank rentals, nitrox, and guided dives are widely available in Kihei and Maalaea. Examples: Maui Dreams Dive Co for shore and boat dives, Maui Dive Shop for charters including Molokini. Reserve early in peak months. Bring an SMB and booties for lava entries.
