The Rip
About The Rip
A well-known site at the southern tip of Direction Island. It is typically done as a snorkel dive because strong incoming currents can occur. When a northern swell enters the lagoon, the inward flow may reduce, making it possible to experience the site on scuba on occasion. White tip reef sharks may be seen resting under a ledge, along with sweetlips, wrasse, groupers, and red bass.
