Beacon Rock lies on a large coral outcrop that fringes the southern tip of a lagoon, with a metal beacon marking the southernmost end of the fringing reef. The site also includes the wreck of the Dunraven. Divers can expect reef scenery with large sea fans and Porites coral heads, along with a variety of reef fish and ambush predators.
