Piscine du Lion de Mer is a sheltered boat dive off Santa Lucia.
Piscine du Lion de Mer is a sheltered boat dive off Santa Lucia, used as a calm pool when weather turns rough. Inside the Lion de Mer cluster, posidonia gives way to rocky and coralligenous relief, so the dive works best as an easy, measured tour rather than a fast push to depth. The site is popular in season and can pick up a side current on windy days, but in settled weather it is one of the friendliest Mediterranean dives in the area. It is a strong fit for beginner training, relaxed guided dives, and anyone who wants a short run from the port.

Watch for sheltering boats and avoid the site when a side current begins to push through the basin.
Access Restrictions
Boat traffic can build when the pool is used as shelter in rough weather, so entry and exit need to stay flexible.

Scuba Diving
Beginner-friendly sheltered pool dive with posidonia inside and rock/coralligenous relief outside. Slow tours and training-style descents work well here.
Freediving
Not a true freedive target. The site is better suited to very relaxed breath-hold work in calm water than to depth-focused freediving.
Snorkeling
A calm-day surface look is possible, but the useful features quickly sit below easy snorkel range.
