Boat dive in the Bergeggi marine reserve, with a wall-and-gully profile, guided access, and the best payoff for divers comfortable in moving water.

About Canalone

Canalone is Bergeggi Island's signature boat dive in the marine protected area, built around a north-east wall and gully that steps from a shallow shelf into a more dramatic rocky face. The route is all about ledges, splits, and sheltered cracks where sponges, nudibranchs, morays, and mixed reef fish stack up. Plan it as a guided dive with steady buoyancy, because the south side can pick up flow and the site rewards calm conditions.

Community notes to help plan your visit.

Scuba Diving

The main features are a 20–30 m vertical wall and adjacent sloping rock formations reaching about 30 m.

Freediving

Not a natural freediving target; the main wall and gully are better suited to scuba.

Snorkeling

Not a snorkel-first site. The main interest sits deeper on the wall and gully, so scuba is the better fit.
