Okubo Hama is a major dive site on the northern part of the island with a beach-only entry. The underwater landscape is created by lava flows that extend into the sea, forming root-like structures and walls that continue both east and west beyond what can be covered in a single dive. It is known for macro-focused diving, with many small organisms living along the walls and around coral in the shallow area above the lava formations. The site includes a large overhang that shelters scorpionfish, and sea turtles are often seen in shallow water.
