Sea-fan pinnacle with open-ocean current, sharks, rays, and macro life.
Fan Forest Pinnacle is a colourful open-ocean pinnacle in the southern Mergui Archipelago, where the big draw is the forest of giant sea fans and the wide mix of reef life hanging around the structure. The site rises from shallow water into deeper sections, so divers can work up and around the pinnacle rather than just crossing a flat reef. It is a strong-current site at times, which makes tide awareness and buoyancy control part of the plan.
