About John Pennekamp State Park
John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park is a shallow, shore-based reef and snorkel area in Key Largo with easy entry, clear water, and enough coral and fish life to reward a relaxed visit. Cannon Beach is the main snorkeling beach, and the park also supports glass-bottom trips, guided snorkeling, and scuba outings for visitors who want a broader look offshore. Plan for calmer days when the surface stays smooth; wind can make the water choppy and change the experience quickly.
