Easy Rockport shore dive with a gentle slope
Back Beach is a classic Rockport shore dive with an easy sandy entry, rocky points on either side, and a gentle slope that keeps the profile simple. It is a good training and night-diving beach when conditions cooperate, with enough small structure to make the site interesting without turning it into a technical dive. Divers can expect a very New England mix of crabs, lobsters, nudibranchs, squid, sea bass, flounder, sculpins, and other small invertebrates that change with the season and the light.
