Doran Beach is an easy beach-entry dive on the Bodega Bay side of Sonoma County, with a rock jetty along the south edge. The bay is usually sheltered by surrounding headlands, so surge stays low and currents are mild, but visibility is often poor and the boat channel needs respect. The jetty and sandy bottom draw crabs and fish, including cabezon, lingcod, monkeyface eels, and rockfish.
