Stragglers Deep is a coral-and-boulder reef off St. Thomas with volcanic fingers, a richer outer edge, and a short approach from the drop point. It is a better scuba choice than a casual snorkel stop, with reef fish and regular chances of turtles, eagle rays, reef squid, octopus, and nurse sharks around the rock structure. The site is most useful when you want a sheltered, characterful reef that still feels a little open once you move outward.
