About Lonsdale Bommies
Lonsdale Bommies is a boat-only bommie field just outside Port Phillip Heads, about a kilometre off Point Lonsdale Light, with limestone pinnacles, ledges, overhangs and swim-throughs. The dive works as a structured multi-level route between the bommies, so slack water matters more than chasing depth. It sits clear of the main shipping channel, but the Heads still push strong tidal flow through the site and timing matters. When conditions settle, sponge gardens and temperate reef life make it a rewarding boat dive.
