Kohamajima is a small island east of Iriomote, bordered by the Yonara Waterway. The reefs around the island are known for extensive colorful coral communities, including table corals, and clear tropical scenery. Several dive points in the Yonara Waterway are described as places where manta rays can be encountered. The area also features clumps of Ryukyu coral and marine life such as eels and scorpionfish.
