Local guides choose the cleaning station and timing, so a Yap operator is the practical way to dive the site.

Boat-based Yap channel dive with coral ridges and cleaning stations, best timed to the tide so divers can work the drift rather than fight it.

About Mi'l Channel

Mi'l Channel is Yap's signature manta channel, where coral ridges, cleaning stations, and open blue water bring reef sharks and schooling fish into the same pass. The dive line runs along a sandy rubble bottom and vertical coral walls, with a ridge that lets divers hold station before dropping into the flow or drifting the center of the channel. Plan around the tide, because slack can be manageable while tide changes can turn the channel into a fast drift.
