Fraggle Rock is normally dived as an offshore charter-boat site from Tutukaka rather than as an independent shore entry.

Usually dived by boat from Tutukaka in settled weather, with light channel flow and clear water making it a calmer scenic alternative to the busier arch sites.

About Fraggle Rock

Fraggle Rock is a boat-only Poor Knights reef in the Labrid Channel area, known for sloping rock walls, kelp-covered ledges, and an easy-to-follow circuit when conditions are settled. It is usually dived for terrain and fish life rather than for a headline swim-through, with rock folds, weed growth, and clear blue water making it a quieter contrast to the better-known arches nearby. Divers can expect snapper, wrasse, eels, scorpionfish, nudibranchs, and the occasional ray around the reef, especially when they slow down and work the cracks and kelp edges. Offshore weather still matters here, but on calm days Fraggle Rock is commonly treated as a relaxed scenic stop within a Poor Knights boat itinerary.
