This is an offshore boat-access reef run through licensed Sodwana launch operations.

Boat-only outer Sodwana reef for experienced divers, usually planned around workable sea state and current, with a longer run and open-water pickup logistics.

About 7 Mile Reef

7 Mile Reef is one of Sodwana Bay's best-known outer reefs, a boat-only advanced site with dramatic walls, amphitheatre-like sections, overhangs, and mushroom-shaped bommies covered in soft coral. The route has a more open, blue-water feel than the inshore reefs, with schooling snapper, goatfish, and other pelagics moving over the wall while turtles, moray eels, and reef sharks are regular highlights. It is typically dived as an outer-reef exploration for divers who are comfortable with negative descents, current-aware profiles, and live boat pickups. When sea state and launch conditions line up, the reef rewards the longer run with strong fish life, healthy coral structure, and a distinctly more remote feel than the closer Sodwana sites.
