Camp Emerald Bay
Sheltered Catalina kelp-and-reef shore dive off Camp Emerald Bay.
About Camp Emerald Bay
Camp Emerald Bay is a sheltered Catalina kelp-and-reef shore dive along the camp waterfront, where a sandy-pebble entry leads into kelp, scattered rock, and reef structure around Indian Rock. It works well for relaxed training dives, snorkel sessions, and easy exploratory laps close to shore, while certified divers can extend the route toward the bay's outer structure when conditions stay settled. Marine life here is classic west-end Catalina: garibaldi in the kelp, bass and reef fish over the rock, rays over the sand, and invertebrate life tucked into cracks and ledges. The bay is usually calmer than more exposed points, but boat traffic, changing visibility, and stronger water movement near the edges of the cove still deserve attention.
