Clifton Gardens

Protected Sydney Harbour macro dive under the Clifton Gardens jetty.

Plan a shallow shore dive around the Chowder Bay jetty and nets, with variable harbour visibility and excellent small-life potential.

About Clifton Gardens

Clifton Gardens is a sheltered Sydney Harbour shore dive around the Chowder Bay jetty and swimming enclosure, best treated as a slow macro hunt rather than a wide-scenery swim. Divers and snorkellers work the pylons, netting and silty bottom for seahorses, decorator crabs, nudibranchs, cuttlefish, octopus, frogfish and other small harbour life. Conditions can be forgiving because the bay is protected, but the bottom stirs easily, so careful buoyancy and patient movement matter.
