A local operator is the right way to manage the current, drift pickup and site timing.
Shark Reef - Grenada is a boat-access Atlantic-facing reef off the island's south shore, just south of Glovers Island. The site combines a long shallow reef, coral mounds, crevices and sand patches with a current-driven pelagic feel, so it is best treated as a controlled drift rather than a casual reef hop. It suits trained divers who want sharks, rays and turtles, and who are comfortable moving slowly while the water does much of the work.

Depth Note
Shallow reef profile runs from about 10 m to 17 m and stays close to the south-shore reef line.

Hazards, restrictions, and access requirements.
Key Hazards
Safety Notes
Plan the dive around current, keep an SMB handy and stay close to the guide's drift line.
Access Restrictions
Boat-only drift dive with guided pickup preferred; there is no practical shore entry for normal conditions.
Legal Notes
Follow normal Grenada boating and dive rules.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
A current-driven reef dive where buoyancy, drift control and alerting the boat early matter more than swimming distance.
Freediving
Not a practical freedive site because of the current and reef layout.
Snorkeling
Not a primary snorkel site; the current and boat pickup make scuba the better fit.
