Popolcan West is a boat-access El Nido site built around a shallow slope that breaks into deeper pinnacles and a wall-like section. The layout feels like a coral forest, with route changes that reward good buoyancy and a steady lookout for macro life as well as bigger reef fish. Currents can build in the channel and visibility is less predictable than at some nearby sites, so it is better treated as a condition-aware guided dive. Expect a longer run from town rather than a quick local hop.
