El Bajo is Cabo Pulmo's standout pelagic reef, where long rock-and-coral ridges create a blue-water drift dive when the current is right. The site sits inside the national park and rewards experienced divers who are comfortable with current, open water and watching for big animals. It is less about casual reef cruising than about timing, boat planning and staying sharp in a powerful environment. Expect schooling fish, turtles and the chance of hammerheads, mantas or whale sharks.
